KUALA LUMPUR- Ninety-six per cent of applications for approval of development plans were approved by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) until June this year through one stop centre (OSC) online system. News from Bernama, July 5, 2010.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuad Ismail said the system helped to cut the processing time to less than 120 days, from one to two years through the old manual system.
He said this meant that DBKL had met the target set by the Housing and Local Government Ministry to approve development plans through the OSC online system from 89.3 per cent to 95 per cent by 2012.
He told a media conference after opening a seminar to reinforce implementation of DBKL's OSC online system here that several dialogues were held with the relevant parties in the property development sector to enhance effectiveness of the OSC online system.
They included the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association (Rehda), Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP), the Insurance Services Malaysia Bhd (ISM) and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), he added.
Development of the OSC online, at a cost of RM3.8 million, was carried out on a pilot project in 2008 at several local government authorities, namely, the Johor Baharu City Council, Kuala Terengganu City Council, Petaling Jaya City Council, Alor Gajah Municipal Council, Kuantan Municipal Council, Sungai Petani Municipal Council and DBKL.
